Chi-KO 2006 “Don’t be a Lemming”

Don't be a Lemming

Chi-KO 2006 was a blast! It seems that year after year I learn more about myself and what the Lord has in store for me personally. This year’s theme was “Don’t be a Lemming.” We focused on how the world says we should behave, then looked at scripture to get the Lord’s perspective on things. Ephesians 5:1-2 “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love…” What does it mean to be an imitator of God? Our speaker, Kenny, painted us a great picture on how the world views issues like favoritism, our language and material things. Then he showed us the converse on how we as Christians should be acting.

This summer I had the privilege to work with 17 men and women of God. They all stepped up and filled the holes that I tend to leave. Dan, the co-director was all over the place again at camp. He was running around making sure things were taken care of, especially the well being of the leaders. 64 young hearts came to join us this year (that seems to be around our average). It’s always cool to see the hand of God moving throughout the campers. We had a few people who chose to follow Christ during the week and many more who recommitted their lives.
You can say every year I walk away from the week so pumped for the next year. For me to see the new ways Christ has grown these campers and leaders is a privilege. Here’s my challenge to you guys reading this. Continue to pray and spend time with the Lord. Paul says to watch our life and doctrine closely, because if we do we can save not only ourselves, but others as well. Be those imitators of God guys. You all have the potential to move mountains for His kingdom!

Take a look at Jason’s Website for Chi-KO pictures.

I’ve added 2 galleries of pictures from the 2 weddings that I was at prior to camp here.
