Chicago has Nicer Weather then LA ???

So I’m looking at the weather in Chicago and it says 70, it’s 61 here in LA. WHAT’S GOING ON HERE!??!?! :???: I’m in Cali now for training, other then the fact that I think I’m coming down with the flu, it’s good stuff out here. My coworkers are easy going and willing to teach me stuff. I’m learning a lot about endoscopy.

I’m staying at the Embassy Suites in Downey, which is 15 minutes from work. It’s nice I get a comp breakfast, it’s pretty good. And happy hour (which is acutally going on now) free drinks for 2 hours. I’m pimping in awhite Chevy Impala, pretty smooth ride.

It poured out here all day Tuesday, it was nuts. I went out to eat with my cousin and uncle yesterday to this place called Wood Ranch (Tritips, HIGHLY recommended). Tonight I’m eating with Kimmie, Eddie and Franklin (and pooossibly another girl, maybe Franklin’s lady, I dunno). I’ll keep you posted, maybe get a few pictures. Other then goi

1 Week More

Ok so this past week has been a little crazy. I had midterms last week, but this week work has been a little heavier. Maybe it because I’m trying to finish up things here and leave on more then a good note! People have been asking me where I’m going and such. All of a sudden I feel greatly appreciated, where as before there were the select few that would even say “thanks.” Now people are hugging me and asking, “what are we going to do without you?” The answer is simple, the new guy will take care of you and soon I’ll be forgotten. heh, I hope not, but probably. Next week this time I’ll probably be doing my exit interview or cleaning my desk or getting some drinks downstairs, who knows. I know I’m going to miss this place, SOME of the people … my lunch crew and various others. I’ve learned a lot here at ESD.
It’s confirmed, I have my travel arrangements for March 27th, I’ll be in LA for 2 weeks, niiiice. Time to get out of this crazy weather. I’ll be sure to update with pictures and chan from there. I’m looking forward to this new position at Pentax. They seem like a great company to work for (Japanese, heh) and my managers seem cool. Ok, that’s all for now. Peace out everyone.

Almost 2 Weeks Out

If you read my previous post, then you would know that I found a new job with Pentax Medical. Tomorrow (Thursday) will mark my final 2 weeks here at Environmental Systems Design. I’m a little sad to leave, as I’ve been working here for 3 years and am established here, made a few friends. At the same time however, the thought of growing and learning new things excites me. Ahhh well, hopefully one of the nice single girls here will take me to the company party so I can chill with my buddies at ESD sometime.

On a completely different note, I’m going to be on television for a short period of time starting March 25. Unfortunately (maybe fortunately for some), you can only watch me if you get the Chicago local channel. So on Saturday, March 25th @ 9:00pm on CAN TV 21 (Chicago Access Network Television), you can catch a replay of the Day of Remembrance 2006. I was part of a panel discussion that talked about how the Japanese internment during World War II has affect my life (as a 5th generation Japanese-American).

Ok a related topic to the one above…The Japanese American Service Committee is sponsoring a trunk show for Anne Namba. She’s a Japanese-American fashion designer. I believe Hilary Clinton wears some of her clothing. I’m not sure how pricey it is, but come out and take a look. I know if she’s got that dress on her index available I’m going to get that for Nicole…I think it’s gorgeous! The info for the trunk show are as follows:

-Thursday, March 16, @ the Union League Club of Chicago, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., DownTown Chicago, from 11 am til 7 pm

-Friday, March 17, @ the Courtyard Marriott Arlington Heights South, 100 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, from 11 am til 7 pm

I think that’s all I have for now.

The Exciting News…

Ok ladies and germs, I know that I said I had some exciting news to share with you all. I just needed to get the ok from the boss. So here you go.

Engagement Ring

 Ok, so I wish I could have seen your faces, because Nicole and I are not engaged, but some people thought that’s what the news was about, hehe.
No no, the exciting news is that I got a new job. I’m going to be a Field Tech for Pentax Medical, which is a division of the company that makes cameras. I’ll be starting March 27 and will be out in LA for a couple of weeks to train (NIIIIIICE, I’ll get out of this crazy weather). I decided to move on for a few reasons. I woke up one morning and thought about my potential at my current job and didn’t feel like I was growing. So I begin to look around and this opportunity presented itself. I am sooo PUMPED to get started.
Also, because of this new job, I can get the E-Ten m600 (Old Post about the E-Ten), which should be arriving today  The “boss” oked this purchase, which makes me feel at ease. I don’t like tension between us, especially if it’s over something like this. But she saw the need for it with this new job and gave me the thumbs up, which is important. OH, IT JUST CAME IN…nice nice.
Time for me to go …. ummm, I need to ….. errrr, WORK, yea, work ;)
