Dreams …

Dream n. A wild fancy or hope.
I’m a dreamer. According to dictionary.com that is one of the definitions about dreams. A pointless definition, now. What’s the point of dreaming about something, if it can never be achieved. What’s the point in desiring to be someone better, if that will never be realized.

Just rambling I guess…good day :)

Oatmeal …

So I’ve been eating oatmeal these past few weeks consistantly for breakfast. Other then being good about eating it, trying to shed a few pounds, I figured out something about this delicious breakfast food. They should change their slogan to “Oatmeal, keeps you regular.” Hehe, every morning between 8:30 and 9:00 for me
Anyhoo, yesterday was pa’s birthday, I wanted to take the family out for dinner … was thinking Maggiano’s. I guess he wanted to cook so we had Mexican instead, which is still yummy. Other then that yesterday was a rather uneventful one; Work, no school … I did however get one of my 2 new toys for the year … well maybe for the first quarter of the year ;) Since people are having trouble hearing me when I use my bluetooth headset, I decided to do some research and get a new one. After a couple weeks of looking around and reading reviews I decided to go with this one:
Flamingo Headset
It’s a CellPoint Flamingo headset. I used it last night and talked to 2 people, who probably didn’t know I was wearing one because the sound was clear, and no echoing. The ad is right, it’s so comfortable you forget you’re wearing it at times, it’s not bulky or intrusive, stylish and sleek. I got the silver one, to add a little contrast if I wear a black outfit. The cool feature is that I can listen to music with it when I get my new phone. Actually thinking about it, I really got this for the benefit of others as well, so it’s my gift to you all who I talk to on the phone :D Good Day!

Rhymes with Rice ^.^

Wow it’s been a little over 2 weeks since I channed. Here’s a brief update:
I ended up retruning the Steve Maddens that I purchased a while back, because I found a better deal at Marshall’s on some slightly different ones. Nicole liked the new ones better too so that was a plus! By the way, I think Marshall’s and Nordstrom Rack are wonderful stores, one could get some pretty nice stuff for relatively cheap. Let’s see, I got the Steve Madden’s (of course), a pair of jeans (I’m up to 3 now), a pair of flat front pin striped dress pants and some sunglasses for $100.
I started classes last week and they don’t seem too bad. You’ll have to excuse my lack of enthusiasm, as I’m about 3.5 years past due at this point. I’m in “Get the heck out mode” right now. Needless to say, 2 of the classes are going to be really interesting, one is going to be just interesting and the last is going to be…well, let’s say that it’s not too interactive, but I should do well, so that’s ok.
If you didn’t know, I’m a panelist for a Japanese-American event being held a DeVry (next to Lane Tech) on February 18th. We’ll be discussing E.O. 9066 (Japanese Interment) and how it affected the different generations. I’m honored to be representing the go-seis (5th generation JAs). I think it’s open to the pubic, I’ll find out for sure on Sunday though.
Another Japanese blub…JASC is sponsoring a fashon event for Anne Namba, she’s a Japanese American designer from Hawaii, who will be putting on a trunk show sometime in the coming months (1 in Arlington Heights and Downtown Chicago). I really like the dress that’s on the index page. I hope to go, 10% of the total sales go to the JASC. Maybe I’ll get something for Nicole…since it’s for a charitable cause ;) Also more details to come.

So you may want to know what rhymes with rice? Well a lot of things, ice, mice, dice, slice, price, nice, thriste …wait, that’s not a word :( Well yes, while all of these do rhyme with rice, the word I’m referring to is this guy:
Head Lice
That’s right ladies and gentlemen HEAD LICE. Now why would I bring up such a random thing? Well is would have been random had I posted this 3 days ago, buuut for the first time probably since grammar school someone I know found a little guy in thier hair. Ewww gross right??!? Well all would have been good, usually, execpt this person happens to be my girlfriend  So I’m cooking her dinner last night (I went out on a limb and experimented, lemon herb chicken, garlic mash and garlic green beans), it tasted ok, room for improvment. Anyhoo she calls me and asks, “Hey can you get some RID?” If you’ve ever had experience with lice you know exactly what that is. So I’m thinking … “maaaaaaaaaaan, this is not happening” Then all of a sudden I’m itchy (I think it was the subconscious though). So I help her pack up her sheets and clothes, I put the awesome smelling shampoo/conditioning RID in her hair, gave some instructions on what to do, then headed home for the night…well by the time I left it was morning. I don’t think she’s got anymore. She had her head inspected at the hospital and they suggested all this just as precautionary. I did tell her that if by some crazy chance the little buggers jumped onto my head, no RID for me, I’m just gonna shave my head again  So if you see me bald in the near future, you know why … and probably my brothers too, hehe.

Trendy ^.^

First things first. Contrary to some belief, Nicole and I are not engaged  That was not the exciting news that I was referring to. That won’t happen for a loooong while, as I don’t currently make enough coin to get married :( The exciting news is that Nicole got accepted to the Physicians Assistant Program at Duke University. She’ll be moving out to North Carolina end of July/beginning of August and will begin course work August 14. It’s excited for me just to see God’s provision and allowing Nicole to go to her dream school. We’ll be long distance again for 2 years and I’ll admin it’s going to be tough. I’m not all that enthused about that aspect, but hopefully I’ll be able to take some nice trips down there. So congrats to her!
So on to my title … “Trendy” I would never have considered myself to be trendy guy in the way that I dress. I typically would look at a combination of the cheapest/most comfortable clothes and shoes that I could wear. Matching outfits wasn’t something that I did often and I rarely thought about what I was going to wear in a given day. Usually it would be the item that wasn’t wrinked (beyond what the man iron could repair), stained or smelly. But for some reason, ever since Nicole got me jeans (which has been 11 days) I’ve been thinking more about the way I dress, even for work. I’m not saying that I’m trendy now or that I dress that way, but by my standards I do…which isn’t saying much. For instance, I spent many hours looking for shoes that would go with my jeans, specifically brown casual shoes. I have brown dress shoes, but those seem a bit too dressy for jeans. I also have some black pumas that Nicole hates, but sometimes I think they wouldn’t go with some outfits. So I saw these one shoes that I really likes…Deisel Vegas. Well I saw them about 4 months ago on the clearance at DSW and for some unknown reason I thought they might still be there. So we go and they don’t have them. They do however have Vegas in black for full price. I didn’t really want black since I already had black pumas, but I tried them on, just to see how they look/fit. Let me tell you that these are some of the most comforatable shoes I’ve ever worn. Looked online for brown Vegas, but to no avail, I guess brown was last season … I saw some on ebay for $60 with $10 shipping, but that’s kinda pricey for me, after all I’m new at this trying to look nice business, so I thought it would be best to begin on the more frugal side, as I might be going in over my head and just start looking silly. I looked and looked to try and find shoes that were at a good price and that I thought looked nice. So I began my online quest. Steve Madden, Diesel, Rocket Dog was all greek to me. I finally found some shoes that I like at a good price. Thus my search has ended and I’ll be sporting these:
Steve Madden Rascals
Steve Madden Rascals

Yes that was a long story to say not too much, but it’s funny if you know me. I know Nicole is prolly laughing and thinking that I’m a dork. And yes…I am a dork  Have a great day everyone!!
